OrthoLite insoles to be featured in the FST, Speedo USA’s Cutting Edge New All-Terrain Shoe in Stores Now
LOS ANGELES (May 13, 2014) — SPEEDO USA, a division of PVH Corp. (NYSE: PVH) and the world’s leading swimwear brand, today formally announced its two-year partnership with OrthoLite, the world’s leading provider of comfort insoles. Through the partnership, OrthoLite insoles are a featured technology in Speedo USA’s FST, a cutting-edge new all-terrain shoe specially engineered for triathlon, trail running, and any activity in and around the water; the centerpiece of Speedo USA’s expanded Footwear collection for 2014, the FST is in stores now. To celebrate this new partnership and the launch of the FST, OrthoLite and Speedo are teaming up to give away two free pairs of the FST model through a Twitter sweepstakes running from May 13 through May 20.
Understanding the need for footwear that combats the hybrid world of terrain environments, OrthoLite enhances the super lightweight, amphibious performance of the FST with long-term airy cushioning, along with a fully perforated insole that provides unique comfort and full drainage when the shoe encounters water. The innovative FST is also built with:
- Non-marking Vibram® outsoles for superior traction and slip resistance
- 100% seamless construction for comfort with or without socks
- FluidFlow™ technology to provide drainage from upper sole down to the outsole
- Cushioned low-profile midsole for maximum proprioception of trail
- Hydrophobic, quick-drying monofilament mesh for maximum breathability
The FST is offered in men’s and women’s versions in a wide variety of bright, fashion-forward colors, with the men’s shoe weighing in at 7.4 oz. and the women’s version at 6.4 oz. Retailing for $115, the FST is now available at www.SpeedoUSA.com and at select sporting goods retailers, including Dick’s Sporting Goods and Road Runner.com.
“We are thrilled about the launch of the FST and, importantly, our partnership with OrthoLite,” said Barry McGeough, Speedo USA’s VP of Hardgoods. “Throughout its 85 year history, Speedo has driven innovation in swimming and aquatic sports gear, just as OrthoLite has done in the footwear industry. In collaboration with OrthoLite, the FST features the high-performance technology expected from the world’s leading swim brand.”
“We’re excited to partner with Speedo to expand into the aquatic footwear space,” said Pamela Gelsomini, OrthoLite president. “Together, the OrthoLite insoles and the FST sole allow maximum comfort, high-level breathability and a unique moisture management system, ideal for training in and out of water for workouts such as triathlons, trail running, beach workouts or cross training in pools.”
Beginning May 13 through May 20, Speedo and OrthoLite will host a Twitter sweepstakes for a chance to win a pair of Speedo FST shoes with OrthoLite insoles. To enter, participants must tweet at both @SpeedoUSA and @OrthoLite explaining why they want to try the FST. Two winners will be randomly selected on May 20 at 5:00 EST and OrthoLite will notify winners with a tweet followed by a Direct Message requesting shoe sizes and mailing addresses. Shoes will be shipped to the winners in late-May and the sweepstakes is limited to U.S. consumers, age 18 or older.
The FST is one of more than 15 new shoes being introduced by Speedo USA in 2014. Highlights of the collection include the Exsqueeze Me flips and sandals, the Quantum amphibious sandal; the aqua-aerobic TRBZ; the Loco Zorillas, collection of artist-designed flips; as well as updated Aqua Socks, Speedo’s iconic water shoe, in various styles.
The OrthoLite partnership with Speedo USA will span through 2015, with OrthoLite technology being a key feature of select styles within the 2015 Speedo Footwear Collection. Stay up-to-date by liking Speedo USA and OrthoLite on Facebook and following Speedo USA and OrthoLite on Twitter.
